Finally!

Good Evening Everyone!

Today my daughters and I attended my sister-in-law's baby shower. She has 4 weeks to go before she meets her new baby boy :). I have been waiting for over a month to give her this keepsake that I made for her. Now that I have, I can finally share it with you all, as well (warning: this post is picture heavy lol).

First, the card.
I used pale yellow and pale grey - the colors she has chosen for the baby's nursery. I used 'Sleepy Fairy' from Mo's Digital pencil. I LOVE this image. It is just so sweet. I colored it with Copics and layered him.

Here is a closer look:

And now the keepsake.
I have seen things like this online for quite some time and I just love them. I was thrilled to finally have a reason to attempt to make one. I searched the internet for patterns and I did find a few different types. In the end, I decided to use the crib that was in the Silhouette market and make the display box myself. It took a few attempts to get it the way I wanted.

Here it is:

I couldn't just put the crib in the box, the way I had originally intended. I decided it needed a window. After the window, I decided it needed a wall decoration. I wanted to put his name on it somehow, somewhere. I thought about putting it on the crib. Then I thought the outside of the box would be better. In the end, the wall plaque seemed like the best place to incorporate it.

Can you see the baby in there?

I planned on just sculpting a little baby's head and putting it on a simple ball of flesh colored clay since the baby was going to be wrapped in a blanket. My daughter Jordan kept telling me I wouldn't be able to do it. Of course she was right (she knows me well).  Here is the baby, arms, legs and belly button present:

He is made from Polymer Clay  and measures 1 1/2" long. Whew, that was tricky!

There you have it, Ladies. I hope you enjoyed looking. I don't say this often, but  I was very pleased with how this turned out :). I really hope my sister-in-law is pleased with it as well ;).

Take Care everyone,
Christine xoxo

SOG Anniversary card

Hello All!

I know I have been quiet for awhile. I still have been in that creative rut for the most part, but what I have created I have not been able to post until I could give it to the recipients. And here is one of them!

I made this card for my wonderful friend Lea and her hubby, who live across the pond, for their anniversary. It was a bit late getting to her - sorry Lea lol!

I used 'Hand Holding Kody and Mae' from Some Odd Girl, which I colored with Copics. The flowers are from Wild Orchid. I used my Silhouette for some of the embellishments and the easel and some are Spellbinders. (I still am terrible at remembering  the names of everything I use. I don't know how you all remember everything!!)

Here is a close up of the image. I layered it, of course.

At the end of the month I will have a project to post that I made for my sister in law's baby shower. I am very pleased with it and can not wait to share it with you :).

That's all for now.
Take care, friends!

Edwin

Hi All!

I hope this finds everyone well and crafting away!  Yesterday was Matthew - my oldest baby's 23rd birthday.
23!! I just can't believe that he is already 23 years old. Time is just flying right by me. Matthew loves to fish. He spends all of his free time with a pole in his hand. So what better image to use than Edwin with a fishing pole? I can't remember the proper name of this stamp (I have always been bad about keeping packages).

He is colored with Copics and of course, I layered the image:

The fishing hole sign, fishing pole and lures were all cut with my Cameo. I chose to color them instead of  cutting all those tiny pieces with colored paper!

So that's all I have today.
Take care ladies!

Magnolia

Good morning friends!

Today I want to share a birthday card I made for my daughter's friend.
This is one of those times coloring for fun pays off. My girls like to wait until the very last minute to tell me they have birthday parties to go to. From what Jordan tells me, her friends all look forward to her birthday cards. So no pressure right? lol. I have almost depleted my stock of finished cards so I think it's time to get back on the ball. As some of you know I have Fibro and for the last few months it's been taking it's toll so I am still having trouble finding my mojo, which is very frustrating! Hopefully I will get it back soon.

Onto my card.

I used 'For You' Tilda. She is colored with Copics and layered, but I was in such a hurry to get it finished and get Jordan out the door that I forgot to get a side view of her :(. But here's a close up:

That's all for now. Take care, lovely ladies!

A Some Odd Girl Birthday Card

Hello Ladies!

Today I have a birthday card to share. It's for my daughter Kylee's friend, who is turning 12. I decided to make it simple. Sort of. My daughter chose 2 SOG images. She wanted 2 girls - one to represent each of them (Kylee is the one in purple!).

I used Geeky Mae and Heartsy Mae, colored with Copics, of course! I had to add my favorite banner, but I also added a banner with her name on it, and I made a cute little bow on my Cameo.

Here is a close up of the girls

I layered the images, which is why I said it was "sort of" a simple card

I must say, I don't know how you ladies keep track of all the different names and types of paper and dies you use. Geez, I'm lucky to remember which Copic colors I used once I have finished coloring!

That's all for today. Take care, everyone!

A Thank You Card

Hello Everyone!

School is finally out for the summer and now the kids are home all day. I am truly happy that they are on break, but it sure makes it hard to spend any time in my craft room. They like for their friends to come to our house, so there is usually at least one extra kid here at all times. It can get kind of chaotic around here.
I did get to finish a card this week though! I remember the days when I could get one card done a day... ah, those were the days.
This week I made a Thank You card. I haven't put any flowers on my cards lately, so I think I may have gone a wee bit overboard. It doesn't fit in an envelope! Looks like I will be hand delivering this one :)

Can you believe I forgot the name of this little cutie?! I knew I should have kept the packages. But as you can see she's a Magnolia stamp that I layered and colored with my Copics. I made the little banner on my Cameo.

I took this picture before I put her on the card, hoping to get a better shot of the layers - I failed. I think I may need some photography lessons!

And here is a close up of all the Wild Orchid flowers I used

I had at least 5 more ready to go on as well, but I managed to stop myself lol.

There you have it. I do have one other finished card, but I can't post it until after the birthday party :(. Maybe I can get another done between now and then. At least I'm sure going to try!

Have a great day, everyone. Happy Crafting!

Flash Back - a bit

Good Morning!

I hope this finds everyone well. We have been dealing with a lot of things at our house that have taken up quite a bit of my time for the past couple of months, but as of yesterday, it looks like we have finally gotten the bigger issues resolved - phew! At least now I can breath!
Even though I have a few projects started I haven't been able to complete a new one as of yet. Hopefully this weekend I will have one finished now that I can concentrate on something.
You know how things just kind of blend into the background after awhile?
Well, I was at my Dad's house the other day when this card caught my attention. It's been sitting on my Mom's shelf right where everyone can see when they come to their home. It has had this place of pride for about 3 years now. And even though she is gone, my Dad has left it on that shelf.

I made this for her birthday:

The image is 'Baby Fairy with Ladybug' from Mo's Digital Pencil (at least I'm pretty sure that's the name of this digi!). I absolutely adore this image! But it always looked like a little boy to me. So I colored it purple - with my Copics - and put a tiny bow in 'her' hair.

This was also my first attempt at layering. It's very hard to get the proper affect with pop dots lol. I also glittered her wings.

Here's a really close up:

Well that's all I have for today. Now I'm off to try and finish at least one of my many projects!

Happy Crafting!

Another Daddy's day card

Good morning All!

I have finally pulled myself away from my normal go to digis to color up something different.
I have had this image for quite some time now and Father's day is the perfect opportunity to finally color it up.
I used "Love you Daddy" from Mo's Digital Pencil on my Dad's card.

Isn't it adorable? She has the sweetest images. Although male cards are my least favorite to make, I am happy with the way it turned out. But now I'm thinking I need to go on her site and buy one or two more. Or maybe 3 ;).

Here is a close up

I decided to layer this image. I love the layered look (it took forever!).

That's all for today. Enjoy your day and Happy Crafting :)

Happy Father's Day! And a card

Good Morning!

Are you all spoiling your Husbands today? We are trying to at my house, but my husband can make that difficult. He isn't very good at sitting and relaxing and doing nothing. Even when I insist on it!
Hopefully after he has gone through his morning routine he will be able to relax and enjoy his day (OCD at it's finest, people!).
For his card I decided on a clean and simple design since it's much easier that way on male cards (at least for me), and I chose the 2 Hearts Cody and Mae digi from Some Odd Girl.

Of course I layered the image (I can't help it - I'm obsessed!). Here is a close up:

I colored it with Copics, and made the banner with my Silhouette. I love the banners. Looking at the image now, I realize that they are floating. I always forget to do some shading under their feet. I really need to remember that part.

There you have it. Wow, that's 3 posts in a week. I'm on a roll lol!

Enjoy your day!
Christine

Something different

Hello Everyone!

Are you as obsessed with storage containers and boxes as I am?
I am always on the lookout for things that will hold one type of crafting supply or other. But I can never find one to hold those Stickles in the upside down position that I keep them in. I have seen some neat ideas and even tried a few, but I'm never quite happy with them. I suppose I just really want a box of some sort to store them in.
I finally found one that I think I will be happy with!
It is actually a file I found in the Silhouette store.

Here is the box

I couldn't just leave it like that! So I added a Tilda and a little flower spray

Then I double checked to make sure the Stickles bottles would still fit

I have decided to give this one to my sister since she has been looking for one too.

So now I'm off to make one for myself :)

Have a great day Ladies!

A birthday card and a new pet lizard!

Hello Everyone!

Today my son turned 16. 16! I still can not understand where those years went.
We have a fairly new tradition in our house. For the past few years instead of having
a big birthday party, I take my kids out for the day to pick out their gifts and then we go to lunch or dinner. So this year my son CJ decided he wanted a Bearded Dragon. He has talked about it for quite a while now. Well, I finally gave in.

Meet Charlie

We now have a very happy 16 year old boy :)

Now for CJ's birthday card. I made this one VERY clean and simple because, well, you know, he isn't a "little kid" anymore ;).
I used Skateboard Tobie from SOG.

I colored him with Copics - I really like purple and yellow together. And CJ likes purple too.
I couldn't resist making this guy 3D, though. I wish it showed up better in my picture! I popped out his wind blown hair, His pants and skateboard, and then his left hand and the top wheels of the board.

I want to share the card I made for him on his 14th birthday. It's not a great picture, but he is so proud of  this card and the fact that he still has it and it is in "perfect condition". He brought it down this morning to show me that he still has it :).
The image is Saturated Canary, but I don't remember the actual name of the stamp as I have had it for quite a long time.

As you see, it's purple :).

So that's it for today.

Have a great evening,
Christine

MIA

Good Morning Ladies!

Wow, it's been awhile since I have blogged! That would be because it's been awhile since I have made an entire card! I know quite a few of you understand when I say I have lost my mojo. I hate it!! Every morning I wake up wanting to go into my craft room but it just isn't happening. I have been busy coloring, though! I have colored and done paper piecing pretty much every day. So when I can get my mojo back, I will be well prepared :).

Onto my card. My daughter comes to me yesterday morning and tells me she has a birthday party this afternoon and needs a card. REALLY?! I had my 2 year old nephew here for the weekend, and I was given tickets to the Scrapbooking and Rubber Stamp convention in Syracuse for today, which was almost 2 hours away (that was a fun time!) so I had to get the card done last night, from start to finish. My plan was to color an image and stick it on a card. That did not happen.

As you can see I used Some Odd Girl's Puppy Gwen. This is the first African American girl I have had the opportunity to color, and I loved getting the chance to try out different skin tones for a change. I was happy with how she turned out :). I did do a clean and simple card, but I recently purchased a tube of  Pinflair glue (thank you Lea for tracking down a seller that ships to the US for me!) and I am now obsessed with doing paper piecing. I love giving my images that 3D affect. I actually don't even want to color an image unless I can make something on it pop lol.

Here is a closer look:

Hopefully you can see that I popped quite a bit of her. I could have done more - much more lol - but I had to stop myself. My daughter picked the image, the color combo for her outfit, and the papers. I think she did a pretty good job with coordinating :).

Well that's all for now. I will be back in a couple of days with another card - mojo or not, my son is turning 16 on Wednesday so I WILL be back!

Until then, have a great day!
Christine

Clean and Simple - Really!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a great Easter. We had my family over to my house for dinner. It was nice to have everyone together. But it's also nice to have the peace and quiet again :).

The card I made to share today is actually the Anniversary card I made for my hubby. This Wednesday we celebrate our 16th. This time I really truly made a clean and simple card. It was painful not adding flowers and lace lol! But for him, it's just right.

I used Squeezy Hugs from SOG:
Isn't this image sweet? I love it.

A close up of the couple:

I thought this image was perfect because it reminded me of us when we first started dating 26 years ago so I had to color the boy's hair sandy blond just like my husband had when we first met.

That's all for now, short and simple just like the card :).

Have a great day,

Christine

Get Well

Hi there all my fellow bloggers!

So the sickness is still running rampant through my house. Every time one person gets over something, another person gets sick. But my poor daughter keeps getting hit with everything that is going around. Now she has Strep throat! It's just one more reason that I can't wait for the warm weather to stay. It stops all of these illnesses. At least for a little while.

The card I am sharing today is a get well card for my best friend. She had foot surgery a couple days ago - ouch! I chose Puppy Gwen from SOG. Yes, I am still hooked on these images. I have tons more to use still!

I chose this image because it reminded me of her. She has a little Chihuahua and she always wears a bow in her hair.

Here's a close up:

I had to add this cute BFF cut out I found in the Silhouette store:

And I added some rose buds that I made:

I had to make the card mostly pink because that's her fav, but I did add some other colors this time.

That's all for now. I hope you like it :).

Have a great day,

Christine

Easter Card

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope this finds everyone well. Today is a good day. My son is recovering nicely from his surgery, so that makes me very happy. There's nothing worse than your child being in pain and not being able to just kiss it away. At least he is finally on the mend.
On to my card.
I made one Easter card. Just one lol. This is for my aunt who sent me a card so it gave me a reason to use this cute stamp.

I love this stamp. She is so adorable. Of course I colored her with my Copics
and I cut most of the images with my Cameo.
I tried not to put any bulky embellishments on because it has to be put in the mail, but that is very hard for me! I just love adding roses and all the fun stuff so I feel like this card is rather bare.
To be honest, I was just being lazy and didn't want to have to go to the post office to mail it so I had to keep it rather flat so I could just pop it in my mailbox.
I suppose it doesn't pay to be lazy, does it lol.

I did put a little extra on the inside though.

It made me feel a little better since I didn't add all the extras.

Well that's all for now. I have tons of images colored, I just need to find time to put them on a card so hopefully I will be back soon with another to share.

Have a fun and crafty day!

Christine
