Finally!

Good Evening Everyone!

Today my daughters and I attended my sister-in-law's baby shower. She has 4 weeks to go before she meets her new baby boy :). I have been waiting for over a month to give her this keepsake that I made for her. Now that I have, I can finally share it with you all, as well (warning: this post is picture heavy lol).

First, the card.
I used pale yellow and pale grey - the colors she has chosen for the baby's nursery. I used 'Sleepy Fairy' from Mo's Digital pencil. I LOVE this image. It is just so sweet. I colored it with Copics and layered him.

Here is a closer look:

And now the keepsake.
I have seen things like this online for quite some time and I just love them. I was thrilled to finally have a reason to attempt to make one. I searched the internet for patterns and I did find a few different types. In the end, I decided to use the crib that was in the Silhouette market and make the display box myself. It took a few attempts to get it the way I wanted.

Here it is:

I couldn't just put the crib in the box, the way I had originally intended. I decided it needed a window. After the window, I decided it needed a wall decoration. I wanted to put his name on it somehow, somewhere. I thought about putting it on the crib. Then I thought the outside of the box would be better. In the end, the wall plaque seemed like the best place to incorporate it.

Can you see the baby in there?

I planned on just sculpting a little baby's head and putting it on a simple ball of flesh colored clay since the baby was going to be wrapped in a blanket. My daughter Jordan kept telling me I wouldn't be able to do it. Of course she was right (she knows me well).  Here is the baby, arms, legs and belly button present:

He is made from Polymer Clay  and measures 1 1/2" long. Whew, that was tricky!

There you have it, Ladies. I hope you enjoyed looking. I don't say this often, but  I was very pleased with how this turned out :). I really hope my sister-in-law is pleased with it as well ;).

Take Care everyone,
Christine xoxo

SOG Anniversary card

Hello All!

I know I have been quiet for awhile. I still have been in that creative rut for the most part, but what I have created I have not been able to post until I could give it to the recipients. And here is one of them!

I made this card for my wonderful friend Lea and her hubby, who live across the pond, for their anniversary. It was a bit late getting to her - sorry Lea lol!

I used 'Hand Holding Kody and Mae' from Some Odd Girl, which I colored with Copics. The flowers are from Wild Orchid. I used my Silhouette for some of the embellishments and the easel and some are Spellbinders. (I still am terrible at remembering  the names of everything I use. I don't know how you all remember everything!!)

Here is a close up of the image. I layered it, of course.

At the end of the month I will have a project to post that I made for my sister in law's baby shower. I am very pleased with it and can not wait to share it with you :).

That's all for now.
Take care, friends!

Edwin

Hi All!

I hope this finds everyone well and crafting away!  Yesterday was Matthew - my oldest baby's 23rd birthday.
23!! I just can't believe that he is already 23 years old. Time is just flying right by me. Matthew loves to fish. He spends all of his free time with a pole in his hand. So what better image to use than Edwin with a fishing pole? I can't remember the proper name of this stamp (I have always been bad about keeping packages).

He is colored with Copics and of course, I layered the image:

The fishing hole sign, fishing pole and lures were all cut with my Cameo. I chose to color them instead of  cutting all those tiny pieces with colored paper!

So that's all I have today.
Take care ladies!

Magnolia

Good morning friends!

Today I want to share a birthday card I made for my daughter's friend.
This is one of those times coloring for fun pays off. My girls like to wait until the very last minute to tell me they have birthday parties to go to. From what Jordan tells me, her friends all look forward to her birthday cards. So no pressure right? lol. I have almost depleted my stock of finished cards so I think it's time to get back on the ball. As some of you know I have Fibro and for the last few months it's been taking it's toll so I am still having trouble finding my mojo, which is very frustrating! Hopefully I will get it back soon.

Onto my card.

I used 'For You' Tilda. She is colored with Copics and layered, but I was in such a hurry to get it finished and get Jordan out the door that I forgot to get a side view of her :(. But here's a close up:

That's all for now. Take care, lovely ladies!

A Some Odd Girl Birthday Card

Hello Ladies!

Today I have a birthday card to share. It's for my daughter Kylee's friend, who is turning 12. I decided to make it simple. Sort of. My daughter chose 2 SOG images. She wanted 2 girls - one to represent each of them (Kylee is the one in purple!).

I used Geeky Mae and Heartsy Mae, colored with Copics, of course! I had to add my favorite banner, but I also added a banner with her name on it, and I made a cute little bow on my Cameo.

Here is a close up of the girls

I layered the images, which is why I said it was "sort of" a simple card

I must say, I don't know how you ladies keep track of all the different names and types of paper and dies you use. Geez, I'm lucky to remember which Copic colors I used once I have finished coloring!

That's all for today. Take care, everyone!

A Thank You Card

Hello Everyone!

School is finally out for the summer and now the kids are home all day. I am truly happy that they are on break, but it sure makes it hard to spend any time in my craft room. They like for their friends to come to our house, so there is usually at least one extra kid here at all times. It can get kind of chaotic around here.
I did get to finish a card this week though! I remember the days when I could get one card done a day... ah, those were the days.
This week I made a Thank You card. I haven't put any flowers on my cards lately, so I think I may have gone a wee bit overboard. It doesn't fit in an envelope! Looks like I will be hand delivering this one :)

Can you believe I forgot the name of this little cutie?! I knew I should have kept the packages. But as you can see she's a Magnolia stamp that I layered and colored with my Copics. I made the little banner on my Cameo.

I took this picture before I put her on the card, hoping to get a better shot of the layers - I failed. I think I may need some photography lessons!

And here is a close up of all the Wild Orchid flowers I used

I had at least 5 more ready to go on as well, but I managed to stop myself lol.

There you have it. I do have one other finished card, but I can't post it until after the birthday party :(. Maybe I can get another done between now and then. At least I'm sure going to try!

Have a great day, everyone. Happy Crafting!

Flash Back - a bit

Good Morning!

I hope this finds everyone well. We have been dealing with a lot of things at our house that have taken up quite a bit of my time for the past couple of months, but as of yesterday, it looks like we have finally gotten the bigger issues resolved - phew! At least now I can breath!
Even though I have a few projects started I haven't been able to complete a new one as of yet. Hopefully this weekend I will have one finished now that I can concentrate on something.
You know how things just kind of blend into the background after awhile?
Well, I was at my Dad's house the other day when this card caught my attention. It's been sitting on my Mom's shelf right where everyone can see when they come to their home. It has had this place of pride for about 3 years now. And even though she is gone, my Dad has left it on that shelf.

I made this for her birthday:

The image is 'Baby Fairy with Ladybug' from Mo's Digital Pencil (at least I'm pretty sure that's the name of this digi!). I absolutely adore this image! But it always looked like a little boy to me. So I colored it purple - with my Copics - and put a tiny bow in 'her' hair.

This was also my first attempt at layering. It's very hard to get the proper affect with pop dots lol. I also glittered her wings.

Here's a really close up:

Well that's all I have for today. Now I'm off to try and finish at least one of my many projects!

Happy Crafting!
Christine
